Woodfired sourdough pizzas at The Boat, Erbistock

You may be aware that over the last couple of months we have been building a wood fired oven and pizza prep area so that when the sun has its hat on, people can have something very quick and tasty to eat while watching the river Dee lazily wend its way past us.

Well after much tweaking and testing we feel that we are good to go, so for the rest of the “summer”, weather permitting, we shall be able to offer pizzas on the lawn (only) at the following times:

Friday’s 4.00 to 7.00 pm
Saturdays 12.00 o 6.00 pm
Sunday’s 12.00 to 6.00 pm


The short, but we think sweet, opening choices are:

The Basic Italian £9.75
Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella; fresh basil leaves.

The Spicy Welsh £13.95
Tomato sauce, Mozzarella, Charred Leeks, Spicy Braised Lamb; fresh chillies, chilli oil.

The Piggy Farmer £14.95
Tomato sauce, Mozzarella, Red Onions, Braised pigs cheek, Nduja (spiced sausage); pickled apple.

The Chicken Tikka £12.95
Tomato Sauce, Chicken Tikka; Chilli Mango Salsa, fresh coriander.

The Greek £13.45
Mozzarella, Balsamic beetroot, Goats cheese, Honey, Rosemary & thyme; rocket, nuts, balsamic.

Just to be clear, we aren’t tuning into a “pizza pub”; this is very much a modest addition to hopefully complement our usual food offering.
